So here we are in the thrusts of mid-winter. Rugged up in our slouches/ snuggees/ ugg boots (ugh-sigh)…doesn’t winter frump you down? (sigh)
I say no to frumpiness. I say no to thick wooly knit cardi’s and jackets. I want to look good and feel good!
Who knows whether it will get colder… all I can foretell is that bright coral pink lipsticks, faux fur vests and a leather biker jacket will keep us sane (and looking saucy) this season.
(and don’t forget to moisturize your whole body regularly! Make time for it because your body will thank you when spring prances in and your skin doesn’t look like fish scales!!)

Layering Textures/ Faux Fur Vests
For colder days, try layering a thin white skivvy long-sleeved top (or without skivvy is also fine for the larger breasted) with a short-sleeved flannel shirt and a knit vest over the top.
Ezibuy_Urban Cable Knit Vest |
Ally Fashion Crochet Fringe Hem Vest |
You could also try a thin long-sleeved cotton top with a lacy/ chiffon style top/ tunic and a crochet vest (or faux fur vest)– for a softer feminine look. (Also scour Ebay for some cool faux fur vests at decent prices)
Leather Biker Jacket!!!
The old trusty leather jacket has been allowed to come back into rotation (it’s been too long!) – be careful with the cut, as choosing the wrong one can make you look flat or ‘mono-boobed’. If you are larger-breasted, make sure there is a V-neck and collar to break up the boobs and make them appear smaller – and please make sure the jacket is fitted to your waist – not loosey-goosey as this will make you look twice as big. The jacket should come in and finish at the bottom of your waist – right above your hip bone. If it comes down longer than this, you could end up looking like a legoman (no waist) J

Here Comes The Hotstepper… runway/designer highlights
Zimmermann – Autumn/ Winter 2011 (Conversation) – What I love about this ‘Conversation’ collection is its chic femininity, its playfulness with modern garden/ floral prints, its elegance with sheer and crochet lace and lace inspired prints.
There is a generous flow of longer lines, where ‘gone with the wind’ meets ‘garden of eden’ with its ethereal sheerness and fresh/ soft prints. It’s beautifully elegant and proudly Australian!
BCBG Max Azria – Fall 2011
There is always at least one collection each season where I find myself loving everything, and for Fall 2011 it is BCBG – such beauty in simple long lines and layers. The sheerness and softness of silk glides over the female form, with long V shapes that keep going into a maxi dress, and the belt is the finishing touch to show off a small waist. This is a collection that loves comfort as much as sleek elegance…everything a woman looks for in clothing. I want it all!
Gucci (Fall RTW 2011) – Gucci featured many ensembles in peacock turquoise, including a ‘big bird inspired’ waistcoat with velvet bodice and long faux fur plumage over the arms, a thick ‘mink inspired’ fur coat over a snakeskin print leather pencil skirt – and remember this is still all in turquoise!!
This collection is all about animals and keeping you warm - cool tones with gunmetal grey, mustard yellow, turquoise, brown and rusty orange

Sometimes love is seasonal - some things just weren't meant to last - if it feels wrong, it is wrong.
